PETITE DEL MAR
BRIEF
Petite Del Mar is a an online startup. A boutique style marketplace offering handmade products ranging
from wax melts to art prints. The overall look and feel
of Petite Del Mar is dark academia with a touch of 1920s era design. So, the goal was to create a logo that felt
classy, elegant, and simple. A logo that also lent itself
to various applications such as social media, stickers,
labels and packaging.
LOGO
SOLUTION
I designed a minimalist logotype inspired by dark academia and 1920s design. It features thick and thin lines with shortened, rounded stems on select letters. The "M" has a unique touch, with it's right stem removed to align closer to the "A", which sports a curved crossbar.
I adapted the logo for both horizontal and vertical orientations, and paired it with leafy imagery to further the organic, dark academia aesthetic. For color, we
went with a fall inspired color palette consisting of
burnt oranges, cremes, and greys to keep with the organic, naturalistic feel.
