PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project involved designing a large-scale mural for High Point University, intended to wrap an interior wall that includes multiple window openings. The goal was to create an engaging and visually cohesive design that celebrates the university’s identity, incorporating branded elements alongside illustrated representations of campus landmarks and the surrounding city. The composition needed to balance multiple visual elements such as typography, logos, and illustrations while working seamlessly around the architectural constraints of the space.
DESIGN APPROACH
The design approach focused on building a layered, illustration-driven composition that blends storytelling with brand integration. Key visual elements including academic buildings, the downtown cityscape, and the university’s iconic carousel were illustrated in a cohesive style and arranged to create a sense of depth and movement across the wall. Branded components such as logos, typography, color blocks, and athletic references were strategically incorporated to reinforce identity while maintaining clarity and visual balance. Special consideration was given to how the design interacts with the window placements, ensuring continuity across the entire mural without disrupting the overall composition.
