PROJECT OVERVIEW
Nerd Outlaws is a content-driven brand centered around comic books, collectibles, gaming, and pop culture. The goal of the project was to create a logo that captures the personality of the brand while remaining versatile enough to be used across social media, event promotions, and potential merchandise. The identity needed to feel bold, memorable, and rooted in the visual language of both comic and gaming culture.
DESIGN APPROACH
The design approach focused on combining recognizable visual cues from multiple genres into a single cohesive mark. The brand mark was developed to reflect both western outlaw imagery and classic nerd culture, incorporating elements such as a bandana mask and stylized glasses. This combination creates a layered visual that also subtly references a superhero-like identity, reinforcing the concept of a character in disguise. A techno-inspired typeface was selected for the wordmark to align with gaming and digital culture, while a deep red and off-white color palette was used to create a bold and high-contrast visual presence across applications.
