PROJECT OVERVIEW
The University of South Carolina School of Medicine tasked this project with creating a custom illustrated poster to commemorate the graduating class of 2020 across both the CRNA and PA programs. The goal was to design a piece that would feel meaningful, detailed, and representative of each discipline, while also serving as a lasting keepsake for graduates. The final design needed to balance institutional credibility with visual storytelling, bringing together multiple elements into a cohesive composition.
DESIGN APPROACH
The design approach centered on building a cohesive illustrated collage that reflects the tools, environments, and achievements associated with both programs. A range of visual elements were researched and developed, including medical instruments, academic symbols, campus references, and program-specific details. These elements were then illustrated and arranged into a unified composition that feels both detailed and intentional. The final layout was designed with a structured, diploma-inspired format, incorporating the school seal and typographic hierarchy to reinforce the commemorative nature of the piece while maintaining clarity and balance.
